Extruder Drive Shaft Machined!

This is the rod one of the dual gear drives rests on and connects to the worm gear for a 10:1 gear ratio. The shaft is of aluminum for light weight rigidity and the 10:1 gear ratio will act as if 10 motors were turning and forcing the filament into the hotend.

Pair that with two gears gripping from either side and a tight filament path through the extruder, it is a precision system that could in theory handle even the most flexible filament.

Cheers!
